Berlin Institute of Musical Arts is the world's first and unique institution where all musical traditions are treated equally. It´s music programs are not just those of a conventional music conservatory – they focus on the perspective of dialogue between different musical traditions. Creativity is always at the forefront.
The internationally-recognized degree programs at our Institute
The interdisciplinary degree programs Transtraditional Music (B.A. and M.A.), as well as the programs Classical Music (B.Mus. and M.Mus.) , form the core of our academic offers. These programs are crafted through forward-thinking, social inclusivity, cultural openness and practice-oriented vision; they place artistic creativity, technical virtuosity and interpretative depth of our students at the forefront.
These degree programs are open to students from all cultural traditions, ranging from performative sound art to vocal and instrumental music, as well as digital sound creation and various educational fields, by combining artistic, curatorial, research, educational, administrative, and creative components. Our goal is to train students to become independent, creative, and collaborative musicians who can thrive in the diverse and multi-faceted music scene of the 21st century.
